About our Crest
The crest found at the top of the page was designed in 1994 to help our parish better identify with our patron, Saint Paul the Apostle.  Throughout history, the Church has often identified itself as a ship on pilgrimage. Thrust through the sail and the boat is the sword which acts as a mast and centerboard.  The sword signifies the cross on which our savior died as well as the sword through which Paul surrendered his life.  The white sail represents the parchment on which the Word of God was written and the quill pen brings to mind the many letters Paul wrote to the various early Christian communities.  The water under the boat recalls our baptism, that sustains and guides our faith.
